About

Did you know that research says, when you wear a blazer to work, you are more likely to make decisions, speak up in meetings and feel like you belong?

Many women lack confidence at work, often keeping them from accessing pay rises, promotions and other opportunities. Using the psychology of clothing, Peak Women has designed the confidence blazer that supports women to be more confident, empowered and to stand out for all of the right reasons to gain career success.

We are here to help you understand the psychological impact of the way you dress and how small tweaks to your wardrobe could give you that much needed boost of confidence you’ve been hoping for. To support you to do this, our designs have positive affirmations hidden throughout to build confidence while also being comfortable, practical, and full of pockets!

Check out the Peak Women design principles to find out more about how we support you through practical design.

The Peak Women Confidence Blazer

We believe the clothes we put on of a morning have a significant impact on our mindset, similar to listening to our favourite hype song. How we dress sets our frame of mind, which impacts what we project to the world and how others perceive us.

Enclothed cognition was first discussed in a 2012 study by Hajo Adam and Adam Galinsky who studied the impact of a group of random people wearing a white lab coat. When participants were told the lab coat belonged to a doctor they performed better on cognitive tests than participants that were told the lab coat belonged to an artist. So the expression dressing for the job you want may actually have its merits.

Additionally, professor of psychology Abraham Rutchick found in 2015 that people who wore a suit or blazer to work felt more powerful and confident leading to better decisions and the ability to take on negative feedback better. There is a reason we were encouraged to still get dressed for work during pandemic lockdowns and working online, it puts you in a ‘work’ frame of mind and helps with focus.

After 3 years of R&D we have finally launched the Confidence Blazer. We road tested different prints and fabrics and made sure our inside pockets are positioned in a way so as to not be impacted by different breast sizes.

“I designed the Confidence Blazer to provide an option for women to wear in the workplace that was affordable, empowering and most importantly – wasn’t black. I want women to know that they can dress as themselves and still be professional, comfortable, and confident in the workplace.” Jenn Lee Duggan

One thing I wanted to ensure I included right from the beginning was the confidence inspiring positive affirmations on the inside lining of the confidence blazer. It is our unique feature, that subtly reminds you that ‘you’ve got this’ and that the whole team at Peak Women believe in you. This amplifies the positive psychological impact of wearing the a blazer even when the lining is tucked away on the inside. My hope is that you will wear the confidence blazer as your armour and let it support you to reach your peak!
